Good morning Airstrip One. Let’s chat, shall we?
This, is of course, a message not to the party, but to the proles.
You. Yes you, sitting at your “telescreen”, encapsulated by that little black mirror of yours. I want you to think for a moment. And no, not the regurgitation they call thinking, I want you to really think. Think about every single action you have taken leading up to this moment. Every. Single. One.
Odd huh? It’s kinda all a blur. There are plenty of specifics I’m sure you could dive into, but anything that didn’t immediately come to mind is irrelevant. You woke up one morning and saw things changing. You were scared. You were angry. But you did nothing. Because it’s so much easier to observe.
I mean I can’t blame you really, I did the same thing. We were afraid. We were scared of what the future may hold and so we gave power to others to let them figure these problems out as we distracted ourselves to escape this fear. We placated ourselves, as fearless men did all of the dirty work. It was comfortable. It was nice. And our rights were taken away so gradually that we hardly cared.
It was us who gave INGSOC power. Many forget that. The only way they obtained their power was though our silent obedience. And we submitted. Some grumbled about it for a time, but everyone who did either found something less important to care about or is now dead. The only breeds of humans left are sheep and wolves.
Big Brother only exists through our consent. We say he is powerful, and it is from this fact alone that he is powerful! You know the power of belief. You know the power of agreement. Someone disappears? We all say he never existed, and so he never did. We all say Big Brother is good, and so he is. But what do we think? What do we truly think?! No no no push aside the blurry details, push aside the regurgitated responses you’ve learned. Push away the irrelevant! Deep down the first word that comes to mind when I say “Big Brother” is “fear“. It was through fear that we let INGSOC control us. But it must be that fear, that instinctual fear, that leads us to freedom. Hail comrades, a new future awaits!

BOOOOO!!! This is simply Goldstein’s doing. He may compellingly present his arguments, he may target the proles (the one hope for his cause), he may try to inspire individuality in a beautifully written blog post, but filth is filth. Down with Goldstein! All hail Big Brother!!!

BOO GOLDSTEIN!!!! ALL HAIL BIG BROTHER!!! Haha on another note, I liked how you stated that humans are wolves and sheep. It shows that humanity has regressed and has become less intelligent. It also comes to show that humanity has become more savage and less civil through their actions… or even their lack of action.

I love how you adopted such a strong voice from the Brotherhood in your blog post that is an inspiring call to action to think for ourselves. While I apologize you were hacked, it is some intriguing material.
