Dawn and Dusk

Hello! And Welcome! My name is Daniel Bassolino, and this is my Blog for the year. I was born in Colorado and have lived here my entire life. I personally love living here, and my interests have really been shaped by how much this state has to offer. Ferocious winters lead to exhilarating skiing, beautiful springs and summers lead to breathtaking hikes, backpacking, and even rock climbing. Granted I also enjoy my downtime, and often fill it with Board Games, meeting with friends, and oftentimes random “history rants”.

Personally, my absolute favorite thing to do is traveling. My happiest memories and the times I’ve felt the most bliss in my life have always been from trips. From the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, to the glimmering sky scrapers of New York City, to even a new hiking train my family and I find, I have just loved getting to see all of these unique places. Everywhere in the world seems to have a story to tell, and honestly it is my one wish in life to get to see more of this beautiful planet.

Anyway, my favorite book (despite this being rather cliche) would still have to be the third book of Harry Potter, “The Prisoner of Azkaban”. What I love about books is how many of them can yank you entirely out of reality. I know I love a book when I completely forget that I’m reading and hours can pass with my mind being solely focused on just one thing. Harry Potter evokes a certain type of nostalgia for me, as those were really the very first books that was able to truly make me forget about everything else and just be enveloped by a story. There’s just something really comforting about peering into another world, even if that world isn’t real.

Overall, I am just very excited for Senior year. Honestly despite everything I have really enjoyed these past 3 years and I’m just looking forward to spending this last year with you all. Well, now it begins! Cheers!
