The People’s Burden
Cast out the people’s burden
The pox apon the Earth
Rebuild the world with fire
And smile with great mirth
Cast out the People’s burden
A mask of peace and faith
As freedom isn’t free
When there’s a public face
Don’t listen to an echo
Man’s mouth is not the law
These chains are self prescribed
By men who oversaw
Their words seek to divide
Lines drawn only for gain.
Apathy for the people
Profit off the insane
Take up the people’s burden
Through your own mouth speak truth,
And don’t yield to the primals
While you still hold your youth
Anarchistic mean freedom
All you control is you
Take up the people’s burden
To thine own-self be true
*all the snaps for the Polonius reference that made me actually squeal*

Ahhh! The epic, subversive allusion to Polonius made this rendition even more haunting!
